About Sylvia Stock
Sylvia grew up in Lakeview, a small logging and ranching
community in Southeast Oregon. As the daughter of a local Sawmill owner, her
first “driving” experience was on a forklift, and she had the town’s longest
slip-and-slide because it was made from a roll of lumber wrap. Sawdust is in
her blood, as her family has owned Sawmills for three-generations.
Sylvia is a graduate of University of Nevada at Las
Vegas, with a degree in business. She paid for her education through a
scholarship and running a Moulder in the summertime. While she’s been in or
around the lumber business all of her life, she decided to approach the
marketplace from a different angle – the financing one.
She joined Bank of America in 1995, and transitioned
from traditional lending to leasing in 1999 with Spaulding Capital Group. In
the process, she lived in Los Angeles, California, then Charlotte, North
Carolina, where she joined Leasing Resources, Inc., an established lender in
the wood manufacturing industry.
“I’ve always had a heart for small business, and the
vision, passion, and execution required to make it work. It’s fun to be part of
financing that success.”
